Techland responds to criticism and promises a purchase-free experience in Dying Light: The Beast.

Techland confirms reports of canceled projects and no layoffs

Techland has revealed its decision not to include any in-app purchases or virtual currency in its upcoming game, Dying Light: The Beast, in response to the criticism the sequel faced. Purchases in Dying Light 2 were limited to a DL points system that forced players to purchase pre-selected packs. The new decision reflects the developers’ desire to deliver a pure single-player experience without commercial restrictions.

The game, which began as an expansion, has now become a standalone release spanning over 40 hours of gameplay. The return of Kyle Crane from the first game has added to the excitement among fans of the series. The game has been delayed from August to September 19.
