In a new interview with Hideaki Nishino, President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Nishino stated that the company will continue to adjust its PlayStation Plus pricing, noting that more gamers are moving to the higher tiers of the service despite the price increases.
According to Nishino, 38% of the service’s subscribers are currently in the Extra and Premium categories, with the percentage of subscribers in both categories increasing over the past two years. Nishino explained that the service’s price increase is linked to the increased value it offers to players.
