Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill announced she is filing a lawsuit against Roblox, alleging that the game’s lack of child safety protocols makes it a safe environment for malicious individuals to exploit children, who constitute the majority of the game’s audience.
The lawsuit alleges that Roblox Corporation has known for years about the problems facing the game and its community, but has responded with negligence and deceptive practices that have allowed the game to become a breeding ground for child predators. The company behind the game has not even provided any in-game warnings or guidance to parents and children to alert them to the potential risks of interacting comfortably with anyone in the game.
Roblox is already banned in several countries, including Jordan, Oman, and Qatar, as well as China and South Korea.
