Cloud gaming is not a pillar of PlayStation’s future due to connectivity issues in many regions, according to Sony.


 

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Hideaki Nishino confirmed that PlayStation will not currently rely on cloud gaming due to network stability challenges in some regions of the world. Despite technological advancements, the cost of cloud gaming remains high compared to traditional consoles.

Sony is focusing on developing the PS5 and PS5 Pro to ensure a seamless gaming experience without the need for a constant internet connection. It also continues to explore new technologies for the next generation of PlayStation.

Although the PS6 has not been revealed, Nishino confirmed that Sony is working on advanced platforms that meet gamers’ expectations while maintaining its robust ecosystem.
