Late last year, the Steam digital store broke a new record for the number of concurrent players, which reached 39.2 million players, and now the store is breaking the record again, reaching more than 40.27 million players, according to the SteamDB platform .

The store broke the 20 million player barrier in March 2020 and 5 years later it has doubled that record as its fan base continues to grow.
