Just how legendary was the PlayStation 2’s launch in Japan? So much so that it took 25 years for any console to break the record set by the console when it first launched in Japan, selling over 600,000 units.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has officially broken the record by a large margin, selling over 940,000 units in its first week of release. It will certainly be very, very difficult to see another console break this record, and the Switch 2 may hold the record for many years, just as the PlayStation 2 did:
